Interactive Whiteboards
Each classroom is equipped with an interactive whiteboard.

An interactive whiteboard is a large, touch-sensitive board, which is connected to a digital projector and a computer. The projector displays the image from the computer screen on the board. The computer can then be controlled by touching the board, either directly, or with a special pen.

Recent research has identified how interactive whiteboards have improved the quality of learning and teaching by:

  • extending learning, using more engaging materials to explain concepts
  • creating new learning styles stimulated by interaction with the whiteboard.
  • increasing enjoyment and motivation
  • providing greater opportunities for participation and collaboration, developing students’ personal and social skills
  • enabling students to cope with more complex concepts as a result of clearer, more efficient and more dynamic presentation
