Learning in Swedish continued
2. Formal Swedish – taught twice a week to native Swedish speakers
from Year 2 to Year 6.
Formal Swedish lessons cover: listening, speaking, reading,
    writing and grammar.

Where a Year 2 child would benefit from focussing on consolidating skills in English literacy, the school may advise that the child does not begin formal Swedish lessons until Year 3.

On parental, request formal Swedish lessons may also be offered to long-term residents of Sweden who are not native speakers. This is at the school’s discretion.

Swedish Trips

The school’s location enables us to organise trips to a variety of fascinating museums and other destinations within and around central Stockholm.
A number of trips link Swedish culture with other areas of the curriculum and include the famous ‘Vasa’ ship museum and the Viking sites on the island of Gotland, as well as ‘Skansen’, an outdoor museum of living history, and the toy and tram museums.
