Science at the British International Primary School
Our school follows the English National Curriculum guidelines for science and selects from a variety of schemes, texts and online resources to support the curriculum.
In planning for learning in science, we aim for a balance of:
- skills – ensuring children are able to research, create and carry out investigations using appropriate equipment and reference sources
- knowledge – ensuring that children learn accurate scientific facts
- understanding – developing children’s understanding of the physical world and processes and of the importance of science in human lives.
Science work is strongly linked to investigations within the International Primary Curriculum, enabling children to use and apply their scientific skills and knowledge and develop their understanding within a variety of themes.
