School-Parent Communication
Children learn best when there is good communication between home and school and when both teachers and parents are supporting a child’s learning.

Those parents who wish to are welcome to become involved with school activities on a day-to-day basis, either through activities with the Parent Teacher Association or by helping classes with art, cooking, school trips etc.

Regular communication takes place via home-school reading diaries and a weekly parents’ newsletter sent by the Principal. Information about specific year group activities and events is sent out separately to parents by class teachers (see 'Year Group News' and 'IPC Topics' in the 'News' section).   The PTA produces a regular magazine, ‘Snapshot’, with articles on a range of topics of interest to families living in Stockholm.

At the beginning of the school year, a ‘meet the class teacher’ meeting is held to enable parents to get to know the child’s class teacher. Parents joining the school are provided with a ‘Welcome Pack’ of practical information and further curriculum guidance.

Parent/Teacher consultations take place during both the autumn and summer terms. The aim of these meetings is to have a meaningful in-depth discussion of the child’s progress at school, reviewing each child's learning targets and agreeing 'next steps'.  Formal, written reports are issued by the school at the end of the summer term.

We encourage parents to contact class teachers immediately with any questions or concerns that may arise during the course of the year. Appointments can be arranged at mutually convenient times by contacting the child’s class teacher.
