Positive Behaviour and the 'Golden Rules'
The British International Primary School of Stockholm believes:
Children thrive and learn in a safe, secure and happy environment.
It is our duty to see that they have this as a basic right.
An exceptionally positive and purposeful learning environment is one of the most distinctive features of our school. Our emphasis is on positive behaviour: we recognise and reward appropriate behaviour and link this to our shared overall aim of being successful learners.
Through our positive behaviour guidelines, ethos of mutual respect and shared ‘Golden Rules’, we aim to ensure that every child knows that they are safe, supported and valued as an individual. The school has zero tolerance of bullying and a series of guidelines are in place to ensure that any, very rare, instances of anti-social behaviour are responded to and children redirected quickly towards appropriate behaviour.
At the beginning of every school year, each class works together to agree their own set of class rules. They are guided in this by the school’s policy on relationships and mutual respect, and by our overall ‘Golden Rules’. These have been created in consultation with staff and children and are displayed throughout the school in English, and in other languages used by members of our school community.
