The Foundation Stage continued
The Foundation Stage curriculum is designed to prepare children for Key Stage 1. Children in the Reception class who achieve the learning goals for an area of the Foundation curriculum are able to progress smoothly to the next level.
At our school, children in the Nursery and Reception classes have full access to our range of facilities and specialist teaching for music, physical education (PE) and information and communication technology (ICT). Reception class children begin conversational Swedish lessons in the second term.
At BIPSS, Nursery and Reception classes are part of Team 1 - lower school alongside Year 1. This ensures that our youngest pupils have continuity in access to a developmentally appropriate curriculum throughout their early education.
