School uniform is not the norm in Sweden and the British International Primary School does not have a compulsory daily uniform.
All children are required to have the school sweatshirt, with logo, and to wear this at official school functions and on trips. In addition, each child needs to have a sports shirt and swimming cap in their allocated House colours. All these items are available from the school office.
We encourage children to take a pride in their appearance and to wear clean, smart clothes suitable for the school environment and the range of activities taking place.
It is essential that the children wear sensible shoes, for both indoor and outdoor wear, as certain types of footwear can be dangerous. Children also need to have outdoor clothing appropriate to the Swedish winter weather: all-in-one ski-suits are worn by most children and are widely available in Stockholm.
Advice on suppliers for children’s clothing has been prepared by the Parents Teacher Association and is available for all families joining the school.
